Perché non asfaltare l’Amazzonia?
Risulta difficile condividere la decisione del governo brasiliano di asfaltare 1800 chilometri di strada nel cuore dell’Amazzonia. Marina Silva, sensibile ministro dell’ambiente brasiliano, si è affrettata a dare le più ampie rassicurazioni e garanzie ma la notizia, data dal suo presidente Inacio Lula da Silva proprio nella giornata mondiale dell’ambiente, non è di quelle che si archivieranno in un paio di giorni.
Davvero Marina Silva da paladina del suo Brasile e della sua Amazzonia pensa che la BR-163, nastro stradale sterrato che unisce la capitale del Mato Grosso al Rio delle Amazzoni, una volta asfaltato sarà fonte di vero sviluppo e progresso? Non sarà mica che oltre a fare un enorme favore ai grandi dei produttori di soia e agli interessi criminali legati alla deforestazione, la nuova superstrada dovrà , prima o poi, dilatarsi ai lati della foresta per far posto anche agli autogrill, alle tangenziali e così via? Da sperare che almeno usino asfalto drenante, magari della Elf!
